  • I have recently been promoted to 2nd assistant where I run my own systems and pillars, I look after our restaurants food safety, schedule and community sections.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, both, I learnt a lot during my apprenticeship including my Maths and English skills, the job role I am now in has also taught me a lot including computer skills and leadership skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoyed my programme as I was always learning and meeting new people. The trainers are great and always make you feel comfortable.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme was fairly well structured to begin with, however, I had a change of trainer due to illness which made the programme less organised in my opinion.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • McDonalds supported me during my apprenticeship and always gave me time to complete the tasks I was given.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The trainers are always there to help and even helped me outside of their working hours through email.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I think my apprenticeship helped me become a better leader and problem solver.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, McDonalds has many outside events to join in with. The one I always attend is the McDonald’s football cup which our store came 2nd in this year!

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • The company has always had great training, great managers and they all support you throughout everything. They have provided me with great opportunities throughout my time here and I love my job and even after 8 years.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to McDonald's?
  • Go for it, give your everything and the company will reward you, you can really make a career out of McDonald’s and make some life long friends!
