  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role is now to review all aspects of health and safety as well as cover the in-house training program as well as the goods in process of the warehouse here at Hellaby. I also support the other warehouse at Lowton. I also have taken on risk assessments now within my role.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Since I have started on my course I have been able to pick up many many new skills. for example, I am now able to produce a high-quality report with my newfound writing skills. I also have been able to conquer one of the biggest fears in my life with the support of my provider and the apprentice team and have been able to pass my FS Maths level two.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have found the program to be life-changing hence why I am now an apprentice ambassador. The Program is so so supportive and my provider is amazing no matter what time of day they are always happy to help. the apprentice team is second to none the amount of opportunities that they have provided me with is unreal.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Perfect at the start of the course all is laid out to you by the apprentice team so you know what to expect and what is expected of you. And my provider laid it all out at the start with goals and milestones to achive during my course and this helped me to be able to focus on the taks at hand.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • From my employer I have my manager who has such a wealth of experience with health and safety he is second to none for help and is always willing. I also have a mentor who has also been an apprentice as well so he is able to help with all aspect s of my course and also any apprentice things.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider is amazing they amount of support I have had is just fantastic from being able to email them at any time of the day for help to the fact that they are only one call away if we have any issues. they are also able to help me with my day job tasks as well.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel that this has allowed me to step up and in my role and open my mind to the world of Helth and safety and what could go wrong around me and this has also allowed me to make many changes for the better of the people that I work with as well.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • SO so many since I have been an apprentice I have found many many extra activities you can take part in from all the events when you are an apprentice ambassador that allows you to meet and help others to the apprentice meet up at the gulid hall that allowed you to mix with others from other businesses.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Pearson plc to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It is an amazing place to work with some lovely people to work with and the number of opportunities that are available to you is unreal. The apprentice program is second to none with the sheer amount of things you can learn you are spoiled for choice. It all just feels like a big warm hug.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Pearson plc?
  • Do it don't think about it take all of the opportunities that the role and the job can give and also look out for the vast amount that the apprentice program can give you. you will also get to meet some amazing people as well that make the job all the sweeter.
