  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes! I have learnt about engines, steering systems, braking systems, how to repair components on vehicles, how to use specialist tools.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy the programme because it is not your typical apprenticeship, you are learning all the time and not expected to just sweep up, you are always being asked questions (which is a good thing).

    10/10

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very well organised, we know when we are in college and in work, we know what is coming up and if we have any meetings we need to attend.

    10/10

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support, it does not matter what day of the week or time of night, if I have a problem we can always get an answer from someone.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Our college and Babcock always help us out. We are told if we need to catch up on college work. We are always being asked questions and again if we need help they are always there to help.

    10/10

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It works side by side, so what we learn in the workshop we can take to college to enhance our learning but also what we learn in college we can go back to apply it to our daily role.

    9/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, we went on a week outward bounds training at the start of the apprenticeship, there are always activities we can attend.

    8/10

  • 9a. Would you recommend Babcock to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Top quality training, always learning and huge opportunities after your apprenticeship

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Babcock?
  • Do not be afraid to ask questions, be prepared to put in hard work, what you put in is what you get out.
