  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work as a DevOps Engineer in product development team, building apps that would benefit the wider team using technologies such as Terraform, React, Javascript, github, docker, python and public cloud providers such as AWS and GCP. I am quite fortunate to get a chance of working on a new project every 4-5 months which helps to stay excited and motivated.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt many new skills such as Java script, React, Next.js , sql, Github, GCP and have developed my existing skills such as Python, CI-CD, VScode etc. Since I get to work on a different projects every now and then. This helps me to get my hands dirty with completely new skill. I also get practice my social skills on a daily basis during ceremonies such as stand ups and retros.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have always been a curious learner and passionate about technology. So I get to learning a new skills every-time. No days are same . I get challenged everyday by debugging and solving various technological problems. I get to learn and get paid well at the same time. I also get to meet and network with various experts during events hosted by AWS and Google.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The apprenticeship programme is well organised by Aptem. The course is divided into modules and each module is consists of a project exercise is which extremely challenging but Aptem organises workshops that is related to the project and helps us to understand the concepts clearly. We also have a weekly group call which tests our knowledge and also answers our queries. Overall, the course is well structured.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I have received every possible support possible from the employer. First of all, I get one day a week to study and work on course modules. I also also received free subscription to online learning platforms such as Acloudguru and Codecademy. And if I ever want to answer a professional exams such as Aws Cloud practitioner, I receive free exam vouchers.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Aptem organises workshops that is related to the project and helps us to understand the concepts clearly. We also have a weekly group call which tests our knowledge and also answers our queries. We can also book 1-2-1 calls with the tutors if we want more explanation about a certain concept or require assistance with our project exercise.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel very confident when I am at work because the training providers prepare us well with the technological concepts. We have knowledge checks, workshops to get our hands dirty and 1-2-1 calls with the tutors. And this helps to get good practice before we go into the real world and do actual work.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • KPMG organises plenty of social activities and event. We have teams socials where we meet every four months for event outside the office with lots of fun games and foods. They also organise other social activities such Marie Curie walks, volunteering at charity shop, fundraising etc. KPMG also organises sports competitions such as football and badminton.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I would definitely recommend KPMG to a friend because I myself is a good example. I was able to get a chance to do meaningful work which is appreciated and well paid. I also get to have a say on important decisions that would affect me. KMPG also makes sure that we have all the right tools and assistance need for our overall development.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to KPMG?
  • I would to advise someone applying to this company is to learn about the values of the company and have examples for common questions that are asked during an interview. I would suggest to have live demos and practical examples for anyone applying for technological roles. All the best and I wish you all the success!.
