  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role encompasses a number of different things ranging from engaging with stakeholders to discussing requirements, setting up and facilitating workshops. The role varies quite a lot and some days I am doing more data-orientated tasks in Excel and other days I'm doing more BA tasks such as the workshops etc.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I've learnt a number of things so far and I'm not even half way through the apprenticeship so I'm sure there is lots more to come in the future. I have developed already on my interpersonal skills and also things such as time management which is key.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I am thoroughly enjoying the programme thus far. The support I am receiving from my employer is second to none and my line manager has been great. The training supplier is attentive as well and always on-hand to answer any queries that I may have. All in all I am very happy.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme itself is very well structured. From the offset I had the next 18 months mapped out to me and it all made sense, I know exactly what I need to be doing and by when. There are multiple projects to complete throughout as well as in-house training which all assist in the end point assessment at the finish of the programme.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I could not ask for more from my employer. Nothing is too much of an ask and in fact, I've not really had to ask for much anyway because most things have already been catered for. My employer is always more than happy for me to take pursue any extra training and are always there to support with any queries.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Personally I have received a lot of input from my learning mentor, whether or not this is across the board I do not know. My mentor is always available when I need to confirm something and is happy to assist me with anything apprenticeship related. There are monthly check-ups in place to ensure that everything is on track but this certainly doesn't mean I can't reach out inbetween.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • In truth, I don't feel as if there is much I have done in terms of the qualification that is applicable in my role, there are certain things but a lot isn't really relevant in my particular role - but this could be different depending on your area etc. That said, this could change in the future and it isn't that I haven't learnt anything at all.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There's a lot going on at all times. The Yammer page is constantly full of things you can potentially sign up for and get involved in. The programme I am on has a real community spirit feel to it - which is amazing considering I work from home and don't see people face to face daily. There is always events coming up which I am encouraged to come to within my programme and it's great to meet people in person.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Lloyds Banking Group to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I honestly couldn't have found a better place to work. The support, the ethos and the people really have made this job great and considering I am only just starting out as an apprentice it gives me high hopes for the future and encourages me to stay here and having a long career.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Lloyds Banking Group?
  • I genuinely did not think I had any chance of obtaining this role because of the sheer amount of people that applied. I didn't think I had relevant job experience or qualifications and I wasn't expecting to be offered a job. What I would advise is just be your true self in the interview stages and really look at the job role and it's requirements because you may find that you actually are in a good fit afterall!
