  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • As a Cyber Security Analyst at Lloyds Banking Group I am responsible for making sure our customer's and business data is protected. Working within Chief Security Office (CIO), using various different tools I apply my Cyber Security knowledge whilst being a part of a team where I develop and test new rules.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Whilst studying at University as a part of my Degree Apprenticeship and working within Lloyds Banking Group I have developed a vast array of different skills. I developed or further improved my team working skills, communication and time management skills as well. I have also deepened my knowledge about IT and working within financial business in general.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I can defnintely say that I am enjoying this Cyber Security Degree Apprenticeship programme to the fullest. I feel like I am at the start of my dream career, and I will be forever grateful for LLoyds Banking Group for accepting me inot this programme. It is very interesting, and I am constantly learning and improving not only as a Cyber Security Analyst, but as a person in general.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • In my opinion the programme is organised/structured ok. I admire that I am able to apply the knowledge that I gain while studying at University into my workplace. It makes learning within my job so much more interesting and enjoyable, when I am able to understand such a complex information.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The support I receive from my employer is immence. Everyone is so understanding and willing to help any time. I have an amazing mentor as well, that is able to guide e throught the complexity of the financial business, but also thhrough my own personal development. Everyone within Lloyds Bankign Group are very supportive and understanding.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Since my apprenticeship programme is a Degree Apprenticeship - I am studying at the University. I am able to access any help that I need, as I can contact any tutor any time that I need. There is also a Disability support team, where I can get help, guidance or advice whenever I need.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My learning at the University helps me on a day-to-day basis in my role immencely. I am able to put the theory I am learning into practice almost daily. It is very crucial to never stop learning within IT industry, so I feel like sytudies at University are an amazing help.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • At Lloyds Banking Group there is always an opportunity ot get involved. Wether that would be social events, where you can learn, or charity events where you can get involved and help other's towards a good cause. There is always an opportuinty to make a difference together as a team.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Lloyds Banking Group is an amazing employer. Everyone here is very friendly and willing to help. We all work having the main three values within everything we do - Making the Difference Together, Putting Customers First and Keeping It Simple. You can definitely feel that everyone is doing their part at making the workplace feel enjoyable.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Lloyds Banking Group?
  • If you are thinking about wether you should join Lloyds Banking Group, my only advise is - DO IT! This has been the best opportunity of my life, and I couldn't be happier that I did apply. Be brave, be confident, always show your passion and motivation for learning and improving.
