  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • In Company Secretary (or known as Corporate Governance) we tend to look at Board and Committee meetings and put together papers and review minutes and actions, as well as this, we look after the Conflicts of Interest register, though in other companies this is looked after by the HR team.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed many existing skills to enhance them as well as learn their key importance in the world of work, for example my communication and organisation skills, I have been taught the importance of communication in this job specifically and how it is helpful to talk to each other about the tasks we have done, so that they aren't repeated. I have also developed confidence and how to be the best version of myself.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Initially, the apprenticeship was slow as I was fairly new and did not know what was going on, the process took long to sign me up for an apprenticeship as had to wait two extra weeks to start my apprenticeship, but once it started, I was explained the structure of the apprenticeship and what I was expected to do as well as when I was supposed to do it, this was helpful and completing the task manuals with detail gave me a sense of accomplishment of that I can understand things. I enjoy the apprenticeship a lot.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is very well structured, I am given plenty of information of what is coming up and when it is coming up, for example the workshops, we are given plenty of reminders of when it is so that we can clear our diaries up to make space up for it, and another example being when EPA starts or what month our presentation preparation starts.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I am given enough time and flexibility around the business to complete my work apprenticeship as well as manage any tasks given to me by the employer. They always ask questions on what tasks I am doing and how I will be panning out my day, we are both given sufficient times to complete our tasks and dig into another one.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • We have frequent one to ones every month, where we track progress and they ask me if I need help or any support. As well as this, my mentor, [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions], always provides notice on when deadlines are as well as when I expect any changes. We also have email system for if we are stuck anywhere, we can get relevant support.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification allows me to grow my mindset and telling me that I am more than able to complete tasks, it equips me with knowledge and allowing me to think critically on how I can further improve myself, in my work role, it helps me to understand how processes work and what I need to do.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We have a whole network of activities going on, which the Learning and Development team set up and allow us to sign us up to, for example, this week we had Sustainability week, and hence there are a lot of events set up for us to go into the increase our knowledge of what is happening around, in relation to ESG. I have also signed up to some of these sessions as they are quite interesting.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Together to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It is a great place to work in, they have clear goals, aims and objectives as well as how they are planning to achieve them. One example of this is Diversity and Inclusion goals, where they plan to make the workplace a more diverse place to work in. Another reason why I would recommend them is the sense of belongingness where your work is appreciated and your efforts are rewarded well.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Together?
  • You do not have to stress about the littlest things here, if you need help or want to develop skills, there are workshops set up/can be set up for you to help you. The team here is all about developing individual skills and allowing flexibility in how you work.
