  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • So far I have thoroughly enjoyed my GA experience being able to learn and apply knowledge in areas of the business that you ordinarily wouldn’t is a massive benefit for me. It also helps me to understand how different areas of the business operate and why they are important. I would 100% recommend a GA Programme to others it’s a great opportunity to gain a degree while learning and adding value to the organisation.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The strucutre of the degree attracted me the most and suits my learning style best, as you are learning while adding value to the organisation. As everything is related to work I find it much easier to understand and apply the knowledge that is being taught. As well, I have a much larger support network compared to an open uni degree or something similar. Also it’s a good chance to grow my network and meet other like minded individuals.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Abrdn have been very supportive of my journey so far, so I would like to thank them. Upon starting this journey, I sat down with the head of Enterprise services we had a good chat and he was very supportive of this. My line manager understands that I am doing a degree and will be working and collaborating with other teams. We also have a Workplace mentor who is there to help as and when you need it. Also I know other colleagues who are going through the journey too I would happily lean on them if needed.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • There is lots of help resources out there, the lectures and content provided by the university is certainly not short so there will always be a way to help. I attend lectures on day release once a week, then i study on the side and depending on how close the deadlines are depends on how many extra hours are required per week.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • As all the theory has to be related back to the work place this helps a lot in performing in my role, you can take the learning and apply it directly back into your role.
