To summarise, this involves frequent contact with Clients, dealing with any queries they may have. Looking after 2 portfolios, belonging to two relationship managers in the north team, this requires me making sure everything is upto date for them aswell, I do a lot more too as it's quite admin based work. I have learnt a lot from day 1 of being in this role, ABL wasn't something I was aware of to the extent that I am now. I have frequent 1:1's with members of the team, including with the Relationship Managers who's portfolio I look after - these are helpful in building my knowledge on things and skills also as I progress in the day to day, and programme.
I have learnt a lot of new skills; being relatively new to the banking industry I have learnt a lot of things that I wasn't even aware of since joining the apprenticeship programme, including things from the day to day and the webinars - on top of this I feel I have also developed with some of the existing skills, such as customer service. The team I work within are really helpful when it comes to developing myself and building new skills - as I have regular 1:1's with members of the team.
I enjoy the day to day role, as I am learning new things as each day goes by. The team I am a part of within the bank are really supportive, and helpful where it comes to me progressing with both day to day and programme. I think having a line manager as understanding as he is, is really nice aswell just to know I have the support that I do. I have regular/weekly catch ups with my line manager, where we chat through the day to day, the programme and other bits relating to work/life - which is really helpful as this is a way to understand if I am on track, and how I am progressing with both work and the apprenticeship.
At the start it didn't feel like there was any structure, as it felt like a few things were sprung up on me at the last minute before really getting stuck in with the webinars, it felt a bit overwhelming but soon came clearer with induction. My mentor was really helpful in clearing up what I was confused about, and now I feel like I am heading in the right direction with everything. The support I have is lovely from both tutor and manager.
I receive quite a lot of support from my manager, mentor and members of the team I work within. It is quite easy to access any needed support and guidance with any problems I may have. The guidance i receive when I come across a problem and require help is always helpful, and usually always instantly resolved after a quick run through/explanation.
I receive a generous amount of support from my tutor on the BPP programme, the accessibilty to requesting support is fairly easy as my tutor is only a call/email away. I have required help a few times from my tutor regarding the programme, and she has always been quick to resolve the issues i may have.
I think that working through the qualification, helps with contributing to my knowledge to the role I have within the bank due to learning new terms and banking jargon that I didn't know about before. I feel with working towards completing the qualification, this has helped me with progressing further with my knowledge on banking and the role of the day to day.
Yes, there are a few things to get involved in, I have participated in a social event around christmas time of 2021, when getting to know the team formally over a few drinks and meal, and again with a group we work with outside of the bank, these are appraisers for audits etc. I have also shown an interest in a programme that was recommended by the boss of my line manager. There is also an opportunity to get involved with volunteering work with the team I work with.
