  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Working on my project, helping out in the testing department, but also stretching out to areas surrounding testing. Logging new skills and experiences I can feed into my apprenticeship portfolio. Having stand up meetings with my team to discuss what I am doing, what needs doing and any problems or blockers I might be having

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learned many new skills. Mainly in new software such as JIRA, AWS, Mural and tracking expenses. I have developed existing skills such as team work and also ownership of tasks

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the programme as it has aloud me to meet new people and experience an incredible challenging project. As a new starting apprenticeship, I am thrilled that i was trusted to be thrown on a fast pace highly skilled project as appose to a slow low skilled (boring) one.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Due to a highly intense project - I do spend most of my time in this project however scheduling time to complete apprenticeship work is never frowned apon

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I received a good amount of support as there are many forums and people available to answer questions at the drop of a hat.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The courses are quick and fast passed, some with exams, revising time is short and focus needs to be high. Personally the training is too hard

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • the training has gave me an understanding of the theory behind why I am testing and what part my role slots into the cycle of the project and how important it is.

  • Yes, Events are posted daily across different slack chanels to get involved with, eg. hursley-site has lots of events and sporting events.

  • Yes

  • You dont have to stick to one career path, they are open for you to change a find out what you are most interested in


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to IBM?
  • do research into what sector you would like to start in and always network and be yourself
