  • Existing skills are being developed through a formalised degree apprenticeship programme.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Really enjoy the programme and have a great work/ life balance. My employer has given me the time to undertake teaching and learning with me completing assessments in my own time (to be expected)

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My employer is extremely well organised with a full induction and support package in place. They ensure you have mentors and meet regularly for apprenticeship updates. Regularly ask how you are doing and if any support is required.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Have dedicated mentors in place who I meet with regularly The company has an employee apprenticeship team with a programme manager always on hand if support is required. They encourage regular feedback and really want to help with any issues. Very positive attitude towards learner.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Have been given 20% of work time plus 2 hours per week to work on assessments. Flexible to help me gain experiences with a temporary team transfer programme in place if needed to acquire essential skills.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualification teaches the underpinning theory in relation to a range of roles and responsibilities associated with my role. This can then be put into practice within ongoing projects which helps me develop skills

  • A number of apprentice event and activities are undertaken each year with a chance to get involved.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Pearson is a great company to work for and fully supports development of its employees. I have been wanting to undertake a Degree for over 15 years and never had the time or support to do this in previous employment. Pearson have fully supported me to achieve this.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Pearson plc?
  • To be yourself and have a willingness to develop. Pearson are very good at recognising potential and will give every opportunity to allow people to succeed.
