  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • For 12 months I would arrive at work and would be directed & sent to a packing station, where I would continuously ask pack single items into a box for a 10 hour shift all day and all week

  • I learn skills taught by the learning provider through online learning , these could have easily been learnt myself by reading a book, as non of the skills I learnt where applied to job role

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Gained a qualification but didn’t enjoy the racial discrimination, and watching others getting more training and development based on ethnic background

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • In the work place - nobody knew anything about the apprenticeship, it was like talking to yourself. The online learning was the only learning that was organised

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • After complaining and highlighting the discrimination there was some support, but not much, if I was born a different skin colour there would have been more help in training

  • There normal amount as the online learning was quite easy and the only training provided

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It’s quite useless if your stuck on a packing station for over a year watching others being rotated and trained based of skin colour

  • If your Asian or black there aren’t many opportunities as those of white English & European are favoured for training & developement .
