My role as a teaching assistant is mainly working with small groups or singular pupils who need extra intervention to progress to the next level in either maths, English or reading. I also supervise lunch times which is really about ensuring the standard of behavior is met throughout the whole day regardless of what’s going on
I have been able to learn and develop many skills while working with inspire ATA. There is so much training and work to do which uses many different skills which I either didn’t have or weren’t strong with. Things like leadership and time management skills in a short period of time
This is the best job I’ve ever done really and I found it really hard to find something I enjoy doing, but working with inspire has made my journey so easy and enjoyable that I am now sure what I want to do for work for the rest of my life.
The program is really clear to understand and everything is laid out and informative/ easy to access. If I ever need any help everyone is happy to assist me, emails are answered so quickly so I’m never behind. Overall the structure of the program is what makes it so easy to follow and understand
My employer provides me with a lot of support. I am always asked how I’m doing and if I’m still enjoying the role or if I need any help with anything. They also always update me on my progress so that I am aware of how I am doing.
I am always emailed to see if I need any help and many people who work at inspire are more than happy to schedule a meeting to help me or send me back and forth emails to ensure I’m comfortable with what I have to do. So I know I always have someone who will help me regardless
Without my apprenticeship, I would never have been able to get this job, I wouldn’t have known everything I do now and I think I would’ve found it a lot more difficult to learn about things like safeguarding, behavior management and so on. This qualification had helped me gain some stability in my role
There are many after school clubs and I have been thinking about starting my own club. I have attended a few matches for our schools football teams so there are many things I can get involved in that are outside of school. We have many networking events with all of the staff aswell so we can all socialize and get to know eachother
Yes
They are so supportive and offer a range of courses for everyone so you can always find what you’re looking for, everyone is so supportive too so you’re never struggling or alone and you can progress so easily as long as you put it in the effort you’ll always get support
I would say be prepared for a heavy workload but don’t be too worried because you get all the resources you need and you’ll get so much support from your tutor and the whole team which will make the whole journey a lot easier because you won’t be doing it alone
