  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support from my employer both in terms of flexibility with working from home if required, as well as exam supports to help us to complete our exams. • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • We receive a lot of support from BPP first in the form of online tuition or in-person tuition which involves a few days of teaching a large cohort with a tutor who is more than happy to answer any questions you might have. You also get many past papers, steps to complete on the BPP site including marked answers and an exercise book so very well worth it. The high pass rate also speaks by itself.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification is extremely applicable to my job as they are both accountancy related, I constantly find myself encountering things in my job that I have prior experience on due to the exams I have passed before. Trial balances, general ledgers and nominal ledgers are all examples of things I have encountered a lot at my job which I've studied before in a prior exam.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are many social activities that KPMG hosts for each AM group which is very cheap and tends to be quite entertaining. We also have sports activities and many professional networking events including the Christmas party that is the highlight of the year. Many events on linkedin also involve KPMG

  • 9a. Would you recommend KPMG to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It is a very dynamic working environment, with very friendly people that want to help you to learn. The training provided by BPP is phenomenal and the high pass rates also support this. As well as having an office in the heart of canary wharf, being able to visit multiple client locations, study for a qualification and get paid for everything is a dream.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to KPMG?
  • I would recommend researching the company specifically the annual report, make it so that you are teaching your interviewer about the company. Just be yourself and show that you are a proactive member and will be an important asset to KPMG and you should fly through the interview process. Also don't say "er" or "uh" :).
