  • My role involves procuring items/sub - contractors for large scale construction sites as well as paying sub-contractors/ invoices on time. I also ensure the quality of work produced by the sub - contractors is to a high standard and what was purchased in the package

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, i am still learning all about the industry and everything involved within it. My confidence has also grown as i am supported by the whole team to have confidence within my role and within myself.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my programme a lot. It is very time consuming and some weekends I don't have much time for a social life but I enjoy my work and my studies .

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Extremely well. Within Skanska there is a clear structure of my programme and the direction my progress is going. Overall i am very happy with the structure of the programme

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support. Whenever i have questions my manager answers them as well as my other two co-workers. They take time to go through tasks with me which really helps as i can see how they are done and the standard that is expected.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I am receive support but not as much as my employer. With my degree being virtual and all online sometimes it feels a bit distant.

  • My qualification helps a lot as the content is relevant for my role and helps me develop as well as gather more information about my role and the industry.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • yes, we have milestone events as well as Christmas parties. Every now and then the commercial team on my project go to the pub after work to relax and bond as a team. We also take time over lunch to relax and discuss things away from work which is nice

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • They are very supportive and push me to better myself but always support me in whatever tasks I do. There is also a great culture and everyone gets on very well in the team


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Skanska?
  • Show your values and how they go alongside Skanska's. Be confident in what you say as it is very appealing for an employer is confidence in yourself and what you say/do.
