  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work on various different roles , which i enjoy. I do testing once its deployed by the developer. I develop dashboard with visualisation according to the user stories. Currently i am learning coding and create new dimensions and app using scripts. My team is very supportive and involves me in all the projects they are working on. They give me a wide range of work to choose from so i get the overall experience. My manager is always willing to teach an guide me in my learning process. Good thing about DLG is the company's values and behaviours are reflected in the working environment. you feel inclusive in all means.

  • -Learned how to do presentation in front of a whole team -How insurance company works -Programming skills -more confident in testing

  • Every day is new. Leaning something new everyday. enjoy analysis and finding solution using data.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is structured to my requirement. My programm coach is always prompt to response to my queries and gives me 121 advice for any issues i am facing.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer is always encouraging and indulging me in projects that help towards my qualifications. Always arranging meetings and enquiring if i need further guidance.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • very supportive and patient. Arrange additional support if required. Always guiding me to do the tasks in the exceptional levels .

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I find the training very helpful. It takes you through the basic of data analysis and data modelling. The courses are structured to the requirement of our programme.

  • we have our social meetings were we get to know team mates and widen our network. My company schedule a day for self development which i think is unique .You cam utilize that day to learn something new.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • The company values are remarkable and you can feel that in your work environment. They welcome you with open mind. As an apprentice they don't expect you to know everything, besides they understand and support you through your journey. I always thought apprenticeship are for young people. Being at DLG made me realise anyone can learn anything despite of the age or career background. Senior staff are always willing to help and guide you. You can talk to them and discuss any problems with them. All the staff are always willing to help if you ask for it. They have training sessions were you can improve your skills .


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Direct Line?
  • Direct line is the company that values individuals skills and honesty. They do not discriminate you on any basis. If anyone preparing for the interview i would ask them to be honest in answering the questions. They want individuals who are willing to learn and be a part of their team.
