  • Provide maintenance to systems that support- either indirectly or directly- the UK's navy.

  • I have learned plenty of practical skills within my role, advanced knowledge I already had and have improved across my interpersonal and team working skills immensely through my apprenticeship.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my role very much, the opportunity to work on systems that many people are never likely to is one I find enjoyable. The culture within babcock and the friendliness of my colleagues also adds to my overall enjoyment of my job.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • With the first year being entirely within the west college Scotland campus I feel that it was the perfect start to the apprenticeship, as it allowed for the development of core skills. The monthly review structure is also well done

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Babcock as a whole are nothing but helpful, the help and aid from our training officers are brilliant as well.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Through our qualifications most of the support is given through our lecturers but additionally time and space to do additional work is always provided if needed

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel the qualifications we've undertaken within the apprenticeship are linked well to our role within the company. With all coursework feeling relevant and beneficial to development on the whole

  • There are opportunities to be STEM ambassadors through our workplace

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It provides an interesting job, through a reputable apprenticeship, and babcock as a company have been good to me. So I would see it as a no-brainer to recommend babcock to a friend.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Babcock?
  • Maintain a positive attitude and work hard. Work on building and maintain working relationships on site and enjoy the process.
