  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • It has been very difficult to have the eagerness to come to work a lot of the time due to the amount of uncertainty with big questions we raise, COVID and a lot of changes to our line managers all causing us to not find comfort at work. I have enjoyed it as an insight into the real world compared to being at school but i feel it definitely couldve been a lot more enjoyable.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The overall structure has only just started to seem like it would work as for the past two and a half years it has been far from structured. This is mainly due to the changes of line managers and other factors interfering but im sure it couldve been dealt with much better.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Again i feel for the last two and a half years we havent had anywhere near the amount of support we needed especially being new into a business and not knowing the ways of the company along with big questions being raised and months before they were both discussed and resolved was really difficult and if we wouldve had that bit of help, i believe we wouldve been in a much better state now

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • We receive a fair amount of support when it comes to our qualifications which is handy when at college and it gives us reassurance that we are in safe hands

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The only thing that could correlate to work from college is how to use the tools. At college we work on trucks and big cars, at work we work on military tanks meaning theres little to nothing the same making it almost impossible to enhance my performance at work.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • No, i tried to raise this in my first year about a possible day from work where all employees get involves in a big day of some sports and to be involved with each other to possibly boost morale but this was never raised

  • 9a. Would you recommend Babcock to a friend?
  • No

  • 9b. Why?

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Babcock?
  • Ask lots of questions, work hard, if you need something to be done make sue you say it and dont be shy
