  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Oh yes, Over the last year, I got to know and learn all the secrets of working in the store. For nearly 20 years I have been a driver and have never worked in a shop. I think I learned a lot, but also a lot of work ahead of me.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • It allows me to develop, it is pleasant and gives me a lot of satisfaction. Thanks to the programme, I can develop and gain the necessary knowledge, thanks to which I will probably be able to achieve as much, much more in a future as I have never dreamed of.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I think it's okay, I have never participated in any program before so I have no comparison. The person in charge is very intellectually attractive and helps me in many ways. The materials available are fairly clear to understand and to learn. It is quite easy, nice and pleasant.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I have never met a shop manager like I have now in my life. This man helped and helps me so much that it is hard to even put into words. He is a very extraordinary man. He always has time for me when I need him and is always ready to serve with advice that brings a specific effect.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • This lady ([This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions]) is another person who is extremely friendly, intellectually attractive, able to pass knowledge in an appropriate and wise way. In modern days it is very difficult to find such a person. She is always available, punctual and when she says something always is like that. She very sense of humor person.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I think that this course helps me a lot and allows me to transfer the content to the action. It is relatively easy at the present stage, which gives a lot of satisfaction and a sense of security. I think that when the stairs begin, I will be well prepared for further hard work and learning.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There aren't any as such, except for the Christmas dinner. There is something planned but unfortunately getting people from work outside of it is quite a challenge. It would be very educational and help to establish relationships between people at work, unfortunately it is not very feasible at these days.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Iceland to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It probably all depends on the manager. I am very happy with my shop, with the manager and with the whole team that I have built over the last year. Of course there are black sheep but where are they not? Also seeing in the local forum that different people achieve a lot of hard work.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Iceland?
  • In order for them to have a positive attitude to work, they simply have to answer in the first place, do they really want to work? Set goals and build strategies to achieve them. Constantly motivate yourself and others through the effects of your work. Be an optimist, not a laggard.
