  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy my programme. Sometimes admin is duplicated, some things need documenting for the workplace then for the university and then for the apprenticeship programme. This can be annoying and could be more streamlined. I enjoy learning and I am learning a lot.

    9/10

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is reasonably structured, I appreciate some degree of freedom to direct my own work activities and align them to my skills whilst also gaining more knowledge of the business by being guided. The university is not totally optimised for the apprentice, but good content.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Lots of support from my employer, they are behind me all the way and want me to succeed

    10/10

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I am supported in my studies, but at the mercy of timetables which do not consider fully the apprentice because we are part of a full time student cohort and they take priority. It could be a bit more bespoke and better organised

    8/10

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Very much so, it gives me the chance to explore topics and spend time gaining skills which I can then apply at work. Some limitations are not considered, like in corporate environment the security and IT department can limit what I am able to do.

    8/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes there are

  • 9a. Would you recommend Skanska to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Because they employ lots of diverse, interesting and genuinely lovely people, it is easy to find like-minded colleagues who want to collaborate and help each other. Skanska as a company are aspirational and this is reflected by how much they support their employees

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Skanska?
  • Be confident in yourself, they want a person not a robot, they want people who are genuinely interested in the role they are applying to, so its okay to be excited about the job you are applying for and read Skanska's values because they are important
