  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I am continuously learning new skills on a weekly basis whether it be something small such as amending merchandising plans to suit the amount of stock we have or something bigger such as the systems we use at food warehouse and how to use them correctly. My customer service skills are developing daily and my confidence building alongside this.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I have been involved in quite a few activities involving the company due to me being the talking shop rep for the store. I have attended the national conference where we discussed future events for the company and I have also met the owner [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] which was fantastic!

  • 9a. Would you recommend Iceland to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I love working for Iceland Food Warehouse, there are so many opportunities to progress and I work alongside some amazing people and feel very appreciated in my role as talking shop rep and as team leader, I would not want to work anywhere else. I feel like I am learning new things all the time and now with my apprenticeship feel like I am working towards something instead of just working.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Iceland?
  • I would advise that you are open and honest during the application process and just be yourself, have confidence that you can get the job you are applying for and show the interviewer your personality don’t hide away from it, it takes all different types of people to make up a great team and employers want to see what sort of person you are!
