1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am a software engineer for Capgemini. I currently work on a project at my base location. Day to day work varies however generally involves meetings with team members to discuss progress. .NET programming and general housekeeping jobs such as replying to emails. Testing processes and helping to fix defects.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt many new skills that I didn't have previously, these skills are the more technical based. Having learnt a variety of different technologies. I have also developed my existing skills allowing me to communicate and present ideas better and improved team work as well as working individually.

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I very enjoy the programme. I feel it has been a great opportunity for me.

4. How valued do you feel by Capgemini?

I feel valued by Capgemini, especially by the team that I work in and the Account I work on. This being emphasised by the feedback I receive.

5. How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is still evolving so various things are still being ironed out but other than that the structure is good.

6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?

QA provide good support in terms of assessors however as the programme is new, it is still being fully formed and therefore there are still a few hiccoughs.

6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?

Employer support is excellent whether it be with your technical work for the company itself or with the completion of apprenticeship units. Capgemini have always provided a great deal of support.

7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?

The salary is very good for that of an apprentice.

8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?

There are various opportunities outside of work, attending careers fairs at schools and extra various training days across the country are but a few.

Yes

I would recommend Capgemini because of the opportunity that it offers with the sponsored degree alongside the apprenticeship and experience gained from the technical work.

10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Capgemini?

Ask as many questions as possible throughout the given training. Get a good base knowledge before being thrown onto a project.
