  • I am a project manager for the New Build Team, I acquire new build properties on behalf of the authority and project lead the build process throughout for them to be added to our Housing stock as Affordable Rent or Shared Ownership

  • I have developed management skills, most of all I am more self aware of how I am perceived and how I perceive others

  • I enjoy learning new theories and how they can be adapted to my working conditions.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My tutor is brilliant, however I feel that the first 6 months has very little work outside the workshops and then there is too much work for the end of the course, the assignment could be spread out better.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer and manager in particularly are very supportive, however the day to day job still needs to be done so finding time allowance is not as easy as one day a week when first advertised

  • very supportive and available to discuss issues when they arise

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • As stated earlier I am more self aware, this means when communicating with contractors and stakeholders I am more aware of how I may be perceived. I have found I am better at building relationships

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • yes, there are lots, at this time I am a member of the golf society and table tennis society. Regular small tournaments are held and always lots of learning and activities advertised through our internal site

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I have worked is a few different roles and been with the Council for over 13 years. They have allowed me to progress from a general admin job into a career with qualifications.

  • Always read the questions and give examples during the application and interview process
