  • Running a restaurant, payroll, managing my team, increasing sales, projections, training, food safety, health and safety, performance reviews, maintenance of restaurant, management of P and L, customer service, managing food quality, managing accounts, admin, recruitment

  • Yes, communication skills, computer skills, social skills, team work improved, time management, professionalism. Broaden my mindset and made me look at what other businesses are doing and how we can compete

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy university when at uni but lockdown has been hard and studying at home makes it hard and makes us feel like we don't have as much support compared to face to face meeting and teaching.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Sometimes the link for Microsoft teams have been sent out late or not at all this week. Communication from lectures can come across rude or blunt.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer supports me in my apprenticeship every step of the way. They encourage me and push me in my degree. Offer time for me to do it when possible around the business and the business needs

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Can be very hit and miss. Some lecturers understand our situation in terms of working full time and doing a degree however some are not as understanding and can put pressure on

  • I think it ties in well with my current role so therefore I do feel the benefits in my job and in my proformance

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Normally yes we do have outside of work activities but with COVID19 this has not helped in this area and caused activities to be adapted or cancelled. Not the fault of the business or company

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • They are a great company to work for. Very supportive, lots of training is offered. Wage is good. Always chances to be promoted


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to McDonald's?
  • Be yourself, be customer focused. Show that you like to work as a team but can also lead a team. You want to develop yourself and also others and aware of customers and how important it is to make sure they leave satisfied in the service and food they have recieved.
