  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My daily tasks involve engaging with different business Segments, Product and Functional teams to ensure alignment to our digital products and offerings. I have the opportunity to meet stakeholders at all levels including outside of my own department and currently I have a deliverable project that in Digital that I'm working with external vendors to deliver on time.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • The key new skills I've developed are: Project Management, Stakeholder Management, Planning. Whilst doing this I've been able to really develop softer skills such as: Presentation skills, communication and critical thinking.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I thoroughly enjoy the programme I'm on. The work is challenging and develops my skills, the team are brilliant to work with a supportive and the overall company culture is one where I feel incredibly supported. I can honestly say everyday I look forward to working here.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • On the first day I joined the programme I was given the programme plan for the next 4 years. This included all my degree workshops, monthly manager catch ups, additional training courses. It is exceptionally well organised and that structure is followed and adhered to.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The support is brilliant. Every manager I've had genuinely cares about my and my development, I'm confident in how to access support if I need it or if I had a problem. The overall attitude is 'how can we help you be the best you' which is great.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider has catch up calls and quarterly reviews which really support me in drawing out my experience and what I've done and linking that towards my qualification. I enjoy my calls with my talent coach she's always extremely positive and has helped me develop.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification has really helped me in my day to day role and just my understanding of how the industry operates as a whole. Studying the theoretical side is very rewarding but seeing it in real time at work really validates what you've learned.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • My company has social events on a regular basis, from virtual pub quizzes, to escape rooms, speed networking, guest speaker events, volunteering opportunities. There is so much to get involved in.

  • Be yourself and and understand what your strengths and limitations are. One of the most powerful skills a person can have is self-awareness. A commitment to self improvement is something that will help you stand out.
