As a Degree apprentice on the software engineering pathway you will be looking training to become a full stack software engineer. On a day to day basis you will be learning new skills either through project work with clients or dedicated time training.
You will be learning each and everyday while working as a degree apprentice. You will have the opportunity to apply the theory you have gained at university and apply that to what you are doing at work. KPMG also provides tailored learning platforms for you to continuously learn.
Personally I really enjoy my role as I am able to work with new interesting technologies on a daily basis and network with people that have huge amounts of experience in the industry.
The structure could be more clear from the outset. Since it is a fairly new apprenticeship there is still a bit more clarity around what each year holds.
Support is one of the best attributes of this apprenticeship. There are so many sources of help at all levels of the business. You will be partnered up with individuals working at the same grade as you to help guide and support you.
The dedicated 2 days are really helpful when it comes to support your university work. There are also many pathways presented to you if any issues arise.
The degree is tailored towards your job role within KPMG and so this direct link between the two really helps to improve your understanding of topics and concepts. Since the two are linked you are able to apply the theoretical side of university to the practical side of work.
This is one area that needs to be improved.

Its a great place to kick off your career and get the fundamentals right. The phrase "They build you up for success" really does apply to this apprenticeship since they give you the tools, space and time to set yourself on the path to a successful career.
Be yourself. This is a very underrated aspect that is not spoken about as much as it needs to be. If you are open and honest about what you want and why you are applying, you will really shine through.
