KPMG360 Apprentice Review

I work as an auditing assistant in the asset management department of Financial Services audit. My roll involved auditing financial statements of mainly asset management client, some clients are listed and some clients are not listed. I also work on pension scheme audits some times and have previosuly worked on insurance audits.

I have learnt numerous skills and developed my current skills whilst working in the Audit department. I have a deep understand of how Asset Management companies function and run their day to day business operations, the assets and liabilities they typically have and how they are presented in their financial statements.

My program is amazing, during they first few years of the programme I was able to rotate through various departments of the firm and was able to get a flavour of each department before I make a final decision as to what department I would like to specialise and gain mor eexperience in.

My apprenticeship programme is very large and very well structured. We are able to gain expereince is various departments of the firm and have a variety of opportunities for us to select from to gain a range of skills and knowledge that will aid us in our career and studies.

My employer is very supportive in terms of my work and my studies. I am aware of the support networks available to me and I am confident to reach out and ask for help should I need it. My employer provides regular training to us for us to keep up to date.

My training provider offers a variety of support, we have relgular catch-up calls and have a dedicated coach for technical support and non-technical support. We are encouraged to ask questions during our studies and we normally receive prompt response to any questions that we ask in regards to our studies.

My studies and role link very well and I feel that I am learning in both a practical way and in the standard way through studies. This allows me to strenghten my knowledge and understanding and learn in a more exciting way. I am also able to ask colleagues questions if I need help.

There are many networking events which I can get involved in at work which is alway very fun and a brilliant learning experience. In terms of sports, I have not come across much sports events as of yet but I am sure there will be many coming up in the near future.

KPMG is also very supportive with the learning process and provides support from all angles and is always available to help.

I would advise everyone to join KPMG as it is a fantastic opportunity to develop ones career and porgress in their life.
