  • My current role is like an assistant site manager and some of my day to day tasks involve making sure the site is running correctly and safely and to resolve any issues that my happen during the day

  • i have learnt many new skills such as programming skills and i have also developed mine of my existing skills such as time management and working efficiently

  • i enjoy it very much, as i am learning vital skills and gaining crucial experience all while attending university and obtaining a degree

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I feel it is quite well structred and organised for example i know exactly who to get in contact with if i have an issue regarding university or work life

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • i receive a lot of support and the people i work with support and help me everyday, usually by answering my 'dumb' questions.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I would say that i receive adequate support from university but I feel like there could be a slight improvement to the support we receive from university as we are only there for 20/25 days a year

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel like the things i learn about at university direct link to things at work for example Material technology is the study of materials and there behaviours. This topic has given be a deeper understanding to why certain materials are choose over others even if they are more expensive.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • No there is not. due to covid 19 we have all been working remotely and social events are currently not an option

  • Yes

  • Kier is a very diverse and supporting company with lots of opportunities to progress.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Kier Group?
  • The advise i would give them is, to be pick wisely what sort of job they'd like and to make sure they apply because they want the job not just because its a good opportunity
