What is great about this Apprenticeship is that you end up doing something every day. Each day is a challenge and you learn new skills all the time. Therefore, I do not have any 'day-to-day' jobs however my job has included anything from Ordering camera equipment to assisting on a shoot.
I have learnt so much in the first 3 months on this Apprenticeship. I have fulfilled roles as both runner and production management assistant and feel I could competently complete both job roles successfully after the Apprenticeship.
Every day I look forward to going into work. There is always a new challenge and the people are a pleasure to work with.
The BBC has made me feel so valued. For example, I have now been entrusted to organise a whole shoot. This, as I'm sure can imagine, makes me feel trusted and like I'm really evolved in the projects.
It is the first year on the programme that we have had an Apprenticeship Coordinator and she has really helped to organise extra training and make the Apprenticeship run as smoothly as possible.
They have been excellent and even though I haven't had any major issues, I feel that if I did the support is there.
My Employer has been really great and often organises appraisals to give feedback on my progress. Therefore, when work is busy I would feel comfortable to ask for the support.
The salary meets all of my needs with travel etc.
There are always social opportunities and groups to attend which is great and the team quite often go out for lunches too which is great.

So far, I have learnt so much and will have a years experience at the end of this course. Compared to media graduates who still need media experience. Therefore, I feel an Apprenticeship is a much better route into the TV industry.
The application process may seem daunting but take your time and if there's an online application, keep within the word limit.
