  • AP for Asian Network Daytime Show - call newsbeat, find out readers over the show - research track of the week, artists or guests - check and build show schedule, outline the show (insert Stabs, TOHs, Presenter IDs) - Keep an eye on socials and texts - highlighting what will be read on air, adding voice notes to presenters desks to play out - create music montages for shows TOH

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, how to use the equipment in studio, editing and mixing music skills have improve. people skills too, I'm much more confident than when I started 5 months ago. Have also learnt camera and recording skills that come in handy inside and out of work. writing for different occasions too, email, talkies, write ups2etc.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy it, I feel a great sense of moral from the team meant some other great apprentices, fantastic tutors at BBC Academy and All Spring Media and have fit in well. I enjoy working with the music team being creative, attending meetings and feel that my voice is heard and ideas listened to. I'm learning a lot and everyday is different.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Really well organised. Everything was timetabled out from the day I started and really clear. Training is structured and it all goings to plan and inline with the scheduling on time. staff are really helpful to answer ay questions and explain further if needed. extra documents and all information needed is sent to us such as directions on how to get to training, detail schedules, hotel/travel information

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Lots of support, I have mentors day to day that I see and can speak to about anything. my line mangers are really supportive and with have weekly check ins. there is also mental health support if needed which is great. I feel that everyone want me to do well so the support is there and a clear direction for growth ahead.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Training provider is really good for support, can contact them anytime and receive advice and help back. They check in and return marked work back in a timely fashion. Safeguarding in place and feel supported. After being out of education a while and struggling with writing they have been great advising support

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel like we are being trained to do our jobs well really relevant material that is interchangeable with what I do in studio and the office. My confidence has grown and feel as though I ca carryout everything that's expected of me to a high level without immediate support being there and that will only get better in time with continued support and training from the training provider

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Book club - i enjoy reader and feel the recommendations have expanded my genres. Podcasting team on YAMMER I follow tips and advice and I record and produce a podcast of my own and BBC Young Reporter I speak about my apprenticeship and what I do and I'm learning about both on zoom and in person. Outside of work I roller-skate, review TV/film and attend the gym and enjoy cooking and baking

  • Yes

  • I feel like it is a great company to work for, I am learning a lot and feel like I'm supported, ideas valued and work for a great company with lots of opportunities for growth and development In a lot of different areas that I can build a career


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BBC?
  • List everything you do that make you happy and that makes you, you. what your dedicated or have a passion for, be yourself, showcase what you know and have learnt of your journey of life. STAR technique when explaining what you have done previously and be ready to learn.
