  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role as a care team leader is to ensure that residents needs are being met in a dignified way, also that the care staff are doing the job properly and my role is to give medication out and also to ensure all staff are competent in what they are doing, also that my staff feel safe in their job role and can come and report to me for any issues they may have.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes I have learnt lots of new skills by doing my Nvq 3 and I have enjoyed doing it now when I work I look at things differently and relate back to when i did a module on this I also feel more confident in my job role and to question thing that I feel are not right, I also feel I have a lot more knowledge in for example safe guarding.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy doing my program, as I learnt new things and I enjoyed setting time out to do my course, I have enjoyed telling people about this and also telling them my tutor I had as she was brilliant and was allways happy to help, I would love to do another course with the same tutor as I really feel she helped me a lot and I am grateful for that

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It was very well organised the deadlines where acceptable and able to do, and if you did go over my tutor was very understanding and gave me time to do this, I think the way it was set out on BUD was very good and helped to see clearly what you had to do and what was left to do and what you had already done

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • LOTS!! She was allways there for me her phone was allways open for me I could contact her whenever I needed support also she was always happy to speak to me about all my worries and gave me lots of confidence and support in the fact I could do this, as I do have little belief in myself, she gave me lots of support and I am very happy I had her as my tutor

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Lots of support was allways there at the end of the phone and if I was unsure about something or I did know but didn’t know how to word it she would prompt me in the right direction she was amazing and was allways there for me, she showed me the right way to go and allways assured me that if I was stuck I could call or email her at any time, she really did help me a lot

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It helped me a lot as I have said previously I know look at things a different way at work and when I see something that I think is not right I feel confident enough to say something as I have done my Nvq 3 and know feel I have more knowledge, I also now when I see something or hear something I will think of the time I did a module on that subject

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes we have ELFY training witch all staff members should be at 100% these are madutory training and will be redressed every 6 months or a year, also we do holidays for the residents before COVID and would take them to the sea side and also we are to do moving and handling training every 6 months, also we have extra training due to COVID 19 we now have lots of COVID training to do

  • 9a. Would you recommend City & Guilds Group to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Because I have felt it had benefited me in lots of ways and helped me with my job role also the tutor was great and really did help me a lot and gave me so much more confidence in my self also it’s a great way to learnt the fact they do it on bud is great and it is set out really good I really would recommend this to my friends as I have really enjoyed doing this


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to City & Guilds Group?
  • Don’t worry, you will do it and you will be fine, it’s a great way to get a qualification and you will enjoy this while learning you will have a great time, and your tutor is there to support you with any needs you have and any worries and you should go for it and try it because you will be amazed at how good it is and how much you will enjoy it
