  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a home delivery driver who delivers fresh and frozen products to the general public.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes I have been taught several eco driving skills and techniques which help reduce costs for the company and also myself. I have also updated my general knowledge of all new road transport rules and regulations. I have also updated my understanding of Maths and English.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have really enjoyed the sessions with the assessor and in the class room. All informative, relaxed and fun sessions which make learning easy.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Really well organised. Communication is clear with text messages, phone calls, letters and emails sent to all departments to inform me of sessions. They also inform my manager which is helpful. The sessions are flexible yet there is a criteria to be completed on each session which so far has been completed at each time.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My manager has been helpful although he has found it a pain to sort out cover but he has been given notice for the sessions well in advnace. The area manager is not fussed but the company themselves are really encouraging and want as many people as possible to complete the training.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Loads, the help, guidance and overall support has been excellent. If I am unaware of anything there is always someone there to help me on the end of the phone or via email. I can not recommend them any higher, really good support.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It has certainly made me fully aware of the changes in legislation and the conseuqences on me if I go against the law. It has made me look at my role in a different light but a positive one.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We have a internal store social fund and kind of committee and the company hold events instore when allowed.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Iceland to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • If you are keen to work and want to work then it is the perfect job. If you want to be slack and not work then no. I love it.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Iceland?
  • Want to work, be flexible and stand your ground. If you are not sure of something ask.
