I currently work at EastEnders as an AD (assistant director). The job includes assisting the directors on and off set. However I have also been involved with Pre-production and post-production.
Yes I have learnt skills with dealing with camera and sound equipment. I have dealt with scripts and call sheets. I have also spend time in post production learning how to edit using Avid and learnt about the dubbing.
I love working on EastEnders and get on with the team really well.
At EastEnders I feel very valued and part of the team. I have been given a real job and been able to take on responsibilities that every other employee has.
It is well structured. We have 3 placements throughout the year. In between each placement we have a two week training block.
We receive a lot of support via emails and progress reviews.
I recieve a lot of support from my employer at EastEneders. She has offered me a job for the end of the apprenticeship.
My rent is half of my salary so that takes up a lot. However, as I live close to EastEnders the travel costs are low.
I have been given a job opportunity from EastEnders.
