  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is organised due to scheduling once a week to work on my apprenticeship coursework and also now having set meetings every 4 weeks with my tutor. I also have set days of the month for tasks and work to be completed. However when i started the programme with my training provider it was not very well organised as there was a lot of unknown from my training provider and it wasn't clear until recently what/how my course was supposed to be completed.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • At Kier, my line managers and all the staff and colleagues are extremely supportive and friendly. Many have helped me with my coursework by helping me understand the different job roles and functions that they all have and they all offer extra support if i need it and are all willing to help.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • At the start of my qualification i had minimal support and understanding from my training provider, as there was a lot of unknown from my first two tutors as to what work i should be doing and how the qualification worked and also what coursework i needed to provide to make sure that I did the best i could. I have had 3 tutors during my apprenticeship, since I have worked with my third tutor she has helped me catch up to where i am supposed to be on my course and is helping me at the end of my qualification and providing a lot of support and guidance.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification has helped me understand more about the wider business and how the other regions and divisions of Kier work, from researching and writing about Kier Group in my coursework, not just about the division and region that i work for. It has also helped me understand the different procedures and operations carried out by others.
