  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work in Finance, so many day-to-day tasks can be different depending on the account or particular customer you need to investigate, but it requires a lot of responsibility to carefully make decisions on payments, debt and credits/refunds which I have been trained on since the beginning of my apprenticeship

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I feel like I am always learning new skills as there is several opportunities, however one of the main skills I have developed is my confidence and communication skills - for example, within my team when I first started I wouldn't really speak up, whilst now I am very involved in team meetings and suggesting changes or improvements to processes I am doing

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I am really enjoying my programme, I work with such a great team of people who are always there to support or talk to if needed, as well as the wider business, the other apprentices; we all get along so well

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is very structured - I attended college away from Sage once a week, where i have constant exams and progress reviews. I feel like i am constantly developing for this reason, as i am currently studying for my Level 3 exams after completing Level 2

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I have constant 1-2-1's with my manager, where I am able to discuss any concerns or if I feel like i need more support, furthermore I receive support from my team - who will always be there to help daily if i ever need them

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I attend college on a weekly basis, where there is a lot of support during that day from my tutor - however i am able to still contact my tutor via email on any other day if i require support on some of the content or need to check a task completed.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I think that working alongside the other apprentices really helps, as if one of us doesnt understand something we are always happy to help eachother if the tutor is not available. I have also found it useful to see content that I am studying put into practice in the workplace

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I have attended two Sage Foundation events, one was on my first week with all of the other apprentices, and was a great way to meet new people and overall 'break the ice'. This day really helped, not only for the charity we were supporting, but bringing us together as a group.

    9/10

  • 9a. Would you recommend Sage to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It has, so far, given me so many more skills which i never had before and has opened my knowledge and capabilities up so that they can be transfer to any other job or role i undertake. Furthermore, the people you work with contribute hugely, as they are always there to help, no matter how big or small the task/query is

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Sage?
  • Be confident in yourself and the skills you already have to offer. Have an open mind and be open for new opportunities and experiences. I attended an assessment day at Sage and the best thing I found from that day was to ask questions, you may learn something you didnt know.
