  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • On a day to day basis I complete work for the finance litigation team. I use a range of precedents and draft a wide range of legal documents including LBAs, particulars of claim, witness statements, chaser letters.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I originally completed the paralegal apprenticeship where I was based in Real Estate. Since starting the solicitor apprenticeship, I have developed existing skills and also new skills being able to understand a litigation process and to draft different documents.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy my programme. It is very engaging and I have learnt so much from it.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very well organised so far. However, there is some uncertainty surrounding the qualification due to changes of examinations including the SQE. However, overall it is well structured and organised.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Great support from my apprenticeship manager at DWF. She is always happy to help and answer any question and is very supportive.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive a lot of support from BPP. They are always on hand to answer any questions, I have regular catchups with my apprenticeship manager at BPP and they are very supportive in your studies, work and personal issues.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification helps me to perform better in my role as they help you to develop legal skills at face to face days and learning the law alongside practising the law is very beneficial.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes there are lots of extra-curricular activities at DWF including summer and Christmas parties. They have sports team and always have on CSR events to raise money for the DWF foundation. There is lots to get involved in.
