  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My responsibilities are to help a Premier Relationship Manager manage a portfolio of clients with a wealth need. I am responsible for booking clients into the diary for annual reviews, setting up new business and client queries. I also do the processing for investments, pensions, protection and legacy planning. I am in charge of branch realtionships, which involves coaching and observations with our Universal Bankers.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Originally I didn't seem to get much out of it, I felt a bit left out. Now I have a new talent coach, I am engaged in the programme, I look forward to my study time and each subject that I'm learning. the activities are fun and engaging.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Originally I didn't fell organised or that there was a structure I was supposed to follow, since my new talent coach I know what I am to do each week, areas that I need to focus on and catch up on and how to do it. I have a weekly time slot in my diary that doesn't move, and a floating slot that fits in around my working week

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • everything I need! I have had a 121 with my line manager and set out my strategy for completing this on time. My line manager is great at making sure I have time to do my work, he has access to my diary to see I have my slots booked in as I should and regularly asks how I am doing with it and if I need any additional support

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • originally, not very much but my new talent coach is great, very supportive, easily accessible, provides a font of knowledge. she responds to emails quickly. she is encouraging of what I am currently doing and in booking my exams, saying I can do it, I am prepared, and supported, I see her once a month, which is a trek for her and she comes from Newcastle.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I have a greater knowledge in the reasons why the policies and procedures are in place. rather than explaining to a customer this is how we do it, its great service to tell them why and how we do it, something I wasn't always able to do before. In my transition in roles, I moved from Universal Banker to PRO in the middle of my apprenticeship, this qualification gave me the added boost in my interview, showing I was keen to develop myself.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are regular social events in my team, once a quarter we go for a meal to socialise together. My team is involved in volunteering for local projects, with a couple of days booked in the summer at a nature reserve. I am attending a International Womens Day networking event next week, by invite only, these networking events happen regularly.
