  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I speak with customers in financial difficulty, agreeing repayment solutions and discussing their circumstances.

    3/10

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed skills in my role but not due to the apprenticeship.

    3/10

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy speaking with my talent coach but I do not enjoy the programme as it does not benefit me in terms of receiving a pay rise or increasing my global career band.

    2/10

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very badly organised. HSBC and my talent coach do not seem to communicate to support us. We work on Tessello from months 1-12 and were told we need to read topics in order to study which does not work for everyone.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • We get apprenticeship time scheduled but it regularly gets taken away due to business needs.

    4/10

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive support from my talent coach if I ever need anything. When she visits, we receive mock papers and can feed back our results.

    5/10

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It doesn't help as the policies for the business are different to the ones in the RBCB textbook.

    2/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • NO

    1/10

  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Support is great for wellbeing.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to HSBC?
  • Be sure you take out of the business just as much as you put in, in terms of benefits and perks at work.
