  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • 3/10

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • enjoyed learning about banking for the exam, had difficulty having time off counter to complete the work as not easy in a busy branch so has been stressful trying to write assignments and keep up with my portfolio between customers or in my own time at home so has not been that fun

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Has been a bit all over the place due to my tutor been off long term sick and with me moving branches and covering at others, my end date was due for November but I am now looking at end of march if all goes well this time, fingers crossed

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • not much, have never had my 20% time off the counter per week to do my work, my new line manager at my new branch is helping and asking if I need help and assistance but is a very busy branch and short staffed at the moment so is hard and has been the case ever since I started

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • when she was not off she was very helpful whenever I needed help or to reach out she became available, took 4 months for someone to reach out after her disappearance to explain what had happened and to say he was taking over her students and then she returned a few weeks later anyway

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • helps when speaking to customers or looking things up but nothing major to do with cashiering, but think the entire course is more benefitting for people in the counsellor role out the front dealing with accounts and not for cashiers even in the exam the scenarios where about account opening etc

    4/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • 1/10

  • 9a. Would you recommend HSBC to a friend?
  • No

  • 9b. Why?
  • Have had not much support or allowance to complete my course as is hard to do in a customer facing setting so was slightly miss-sold, also when I was offered do take the course I was told that once I complete this course I can just move onto another course at higher levels until I reach the top if I pass, but now I am coming to the end of the course I see that is not the case and I have to wait until i can apply for a role and then if they have courses relating to that role I can then apply to complete a course. so no actual apprenticeship roles within the bank which I could apply for to further my knowledge and experience

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to HSBC?
  • be aware it will be difficult to have time to actually complete all the work if you are in a customer facing role, and take whatever chances you get to have time off, make sure you keep notes written down with you as will forget by the time you have a chance to input them on the system and be prepared to not move onto to another course straight way
