  • 1. Please give an overview of what your work experience involved:
  • It has involved going round different job roles and getting a great understanding for what their job consists of by shadowing them and doing tasks they set me and this allows me to consider doing that job in the future. I also been doing tasks on the side which logs my time at the sage and skills I am improving and learning while here.

  • 2. What training and skills development did you learn from your work experience?
  • While I have been here, I have learn how to send well structed emails to people I've never spoke to which I never really had a chance to do. I've also improved my communication skills while here and just got a way better feeling for what a 9-5 job will be like which means I'm prepared for the future

  • 3. To what extent did you enjoy your work experience?
  • I really enjoy my work experience here. The people around me are great to talk to and understand any problems I have , and even if I go somewhere else , people are always willing to help out. I also feel like I'm getting a lot from it and learning and improving skills everyday.

  • 4. How well organised was your work experience?
  • It has been well organised throughout and well structured with tasks to do most the time. Obviously there has been meeting cancelations , but that is one of the problems that comes with working in a business as big as Sage. Also , when I'm with different people , they have a good structure for what I will be getting on with.

  • 5. How much did you learn about the company culture and what it would be like to work there?
  • A lot. I'm still trying to learn all the abbreviations that this business use on a day to day basis. I also got a feeling of what the work load may be like, and the times that you have to be in and out of the business which I didn't know before.

  • 6. How much did your work experience help you in deciding on your future career path?
  • As I am still here , I'm still currently getting a feel for numerous peoples jobs in this business. So far , some have been interesting and I would consider them , but the roles that I have lined up to shadow are ones that I am most interested in and I feel I may chose one of these as my future career path.

  • 8. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees?
  • Yes, this is what I have been doing 70% of the time I have been here ; talking to new people in the business and getting my face around. I have been talking to people who are at the bottom of departments to the higher up ones who have a more 'important' role.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Sage to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • As for a job , I'm not 100% because I still don't have a thorough understand of a full time job , but if it was for work experience / work placement then definitely. As long as they use their time efficiently, you can get a great feel for different jobs in the business and what career you may want to pick in the future.
