In my first year I was based at college 5 days a week where I learnt how to do my general engineering as well as some specific railway units. Now I have finished my first year of college I am attending the work place full time and working along side maintenance technician
I have developed my skills in a lot of aspects I have gained on the job experience and have got better at my job. The main skills I have picked up are being able to work well with my team
I really enjoy my job and I really like the teams I work with. My programme is intense and I have a lot of college work to complete but it is enjoyable learning new things and exciting for my future
The structure of my programme is good and I enjoy how it is going so far. When I get assignments I have time in work to be able to get my job done and I enjoy the learning side of things
My employer are really supportive and offer me help with anything I need help with. I get given time in the work place to complete any course work and I think that I can ask anyone for help if I ever need help
I received a lot of support throughout my time at college and I felt like I could ask any questions whenever I needed to even if I was not at college I had email addresses given to me which were responded to quite quickly
I felt that my qualification helped me perform better in my role because everything I learnt was relevant and made me more intelligent and smart when it came to work
As I am at college most of the time there isn’t many outside of work events or activities that have come up yet
Yes
Because it is Really friendly company with everyone coming together as one to help eAchother out. I liked having a lot to do in my first year as it kept me busy
I would make sure you revise for the tests centre and be friendly. I would also not worry about having much experience as they will train you therefore I would recommend just taking a leap and going for it
