  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My job role at Motor Transport is a apprentice technician . My job consists of regular house keeping to ensure a clean and safe working environment for myself and piers to work in. Also we have a massive variety of vehicles to work on from a van to a high loader .

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • i feel that i have achieved both . i feel i have developed new skills and will carry on developing through my career due to the huge variety of work load we undertake. i also feel i have developed my skills as i have come from a mechanical background i was able to transfer some skills across .

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I feel the programme can be extremely changeling but rewarding at times however i am looking forward to continuing to program and achieve any challenges that might be put in place and continue my career with MAG

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • as part of the apprenticeship i attend collage one day a week. i attend work 4 days a week and attend collage every Tuesday of the week to complete my theory.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I feel that in work there are many options for support . there are multiple people we can talk to if we feel a issue is arising . These people are team leader there are two of these that we can talk to . we also have a workshop manager and a line manger that we can go to do discuss any matters we might want to raise and finally the chaplain he is always open to discuss any matters

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I feel that there are many revision guides that have been placed on our online portfolio to help us achieve my end goal

  • I feel that when we are corresponding what we do in collage to what we do in work it benefits massively because we can test and try methods that we have discussed the f previous day at collage

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are many extra activities that the airport put on . Some of these include airport safety weeks , national apprentice week, monthly networking events and community relations exercises .

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • There are many different types of jobs roles and responsibility at the airport . There is something for everyone and all the staff at Mag are so welcoming no matter what your role in the team is

  • Before attending the interview ensure you are aware of the airports core values.
