  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work within the HSBC Hamilton call center within this role I deal with many different sides of banking, whether that be bill payments, credit cards, lost and stolen or any kind of queries we may face on a day to day basis. We deal woth all different kinds of customers from many different countries and walks of life, on my daily routee i deal with building relationship smore with customers, helping and benefitting people as much as possible and over all trying to wrok to my highest potentital with the bank. We are also given time off the phones to do e learnings, set tasks and goals throughout our work, and are constantly being given new updated information and training on new procedures and modules. I always spend a signifcant amount of time off the phones to help and guide other individuals in my team.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Through my qualifaction I have overall gained a lot more knowledge on HSBC as a business and it's processes, this qualifaction has gave me a much further and stronger insist into HSBC, i feel this qualifaction has helped me grown and understand more as an individual within my job role. I believe all the work and commitments I have had with the qualifaction have really allowed me to push myself further overall with my work.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy this programme as it has allowed me to find out and understand a lot more about HSBC as a business and its processes. The time and commitment I have been given to complete this qualifaction has been very beneficial overall. I feel doing this has given me a lot more confidence and understanding with my work, and overall doing this has really helped me grow with my work and within my team.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I feel this programme has been very well set up and structured, i like the fact it is set up and we complete several modules to learn more and adapt more with each process, i believe the help from the apprenticeship programme colleague is very benefical as i feel she is overall very helpful and gives good guidance with each task that must be completed. I am happy that this process gives me time off the phones to learn more and find out further information about HSBC overall as a business, as a whole i believe this programme to be very beneficial and helpful within my job role.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer is very supportive when it comes to getting time off phones to completed tasks, my employer ensure i always hit my deadlines and have the right time and guidance, they also are very helpful when it comes to print out and managers acceptance on the qualifaction, i feel my empolyer pushes me to completed these tasks to the highest standards.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The training provider is very helpful, she is very guiding throughout my qualifaction and is very well and detailed at explain what is expected from me and what i must do to complete each module. She helps alot if i have any struggles throughout the modules and will help me out if i have made any errors throughout my work.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel this has over all allowed me to grow on my knowledge when it comes to HSBC, i feel i have been able to find out a lot more information on the procedures and processes we follow as a business, i feel this over all has given me a lot more confidence and guidance on calls and my day to day work.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I recently completed a volunteer day with work, this was very helpful and beneficial when it came to building relationships with colleagues. I have also been given the charity champion of the team and i use this through the daily work process to overall help grow our team more when it comes to the charity side of HSBC.

  • 9a. Would you recommend HSBC to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I believe HSBC is a very good organsation to work for which has a lot of oppurtunites throughout, i overall enjoy working for HSBC and this has allowed me to grow as an individual and gain a lot of new friends and expriences throughtout my work. I hope to eventually progress within this busienss and be able to pass my skills and happiness of working here onto other individuals.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to HSBC?
  • That it's a great job if you are looking for a busy day to day life and over it is a great place to work if you are looking to progress within a business and make relationships you will keep for life. As long as you are a hard working, happy and dedicated individual HSBC is definetly the place for you.
