  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • my role involves speaking to customers on a daily basis, answering their queries regarding the agreements they have set up. I help them to find affordable deals and vehicle finance options that are best suited to them. the customers I commonly speak with are retailers, therefore I help them to understand the systems involved with the inside of the business

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed many skills in the time that I have been here. mainly I have become a lot more socially developed, in the way that I can now speak to people both face to face and over the phone at ease. I have also gained a massive sense of teamwork as I am constantly working alongside others.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the programme a lot as I have developed skills that I would not have received having now done the job itself. the people here have helped me to be the best advisor I can be and I have become a lot more confident in passing down the information that I have been given.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The organisation is one of the only things I would change as we have not been given much information on what we are doing within the two years and the rotations that we are expected to complete. also there is not as much correspondence as I would like to have.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • i receive a lot of support from my employer. VWFS are a great organisation to work for as they provide you with time to do your assigned tasks and always have someone to assist you if you ever need help. At times when I have been overwhelmed with the workload people have taken time out of their working day to aid me.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • not much help towards the training, I have not had regular coaching during my time here and having struggled with revision could have benefitted with a more training approach before taking the exam. I feel I have learned differently than I expected and do not have support or regular feedback from the trainer

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • if I am honest I feel the experience is more likely to benefit me with the role, however It helps me to have a more text book knowledge on what I do on a daily basis and I am aware that not many people within the business share the same amount of qualification.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • there aren't many other than the annual Christmas party, there have been times where I have gone out with work colleagues but this was done on our own accord and with our own organisation. the business is a very sociable place to be though and people do take an interest in getting to know you.

  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • This company is a good place to get your foot into the door with, I would and have recommended it to many people. there is a role here that would suit everyone and they really help you to progress and work towards the personal and career goals that you may have during your time here.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Volkswagen Financial Services?
  • be yourself, if you don't know what you want to do then it is fine, everyone finds their place here and the people give you exposure to know whatever you're interested in.
