My role is currently for an automotive client. I provide support and access to independent garages who require access to systems to fix vehicles. My day to day is working on tickets and phoning users to provide technical support with the software and machinery. I also provide support for the retailer network - which as over 1000 sites.
Yes. I have developed many skills over the past 2.5 years. I have also learnt new skills whilst on this client site. I have learnt a lot about project management skills, and what it can be like working for a client on site which can be demanding at times.
I enjoy my programme a lot. I get to move around different client sites and develop my skills more than I could have done if I was just at university. There is a good community, both within the business and the apprenticeship community. I do find the work load a lot, especially when we are expected to work 26 hours a week for university, on top of 9-5.
I think the programme is organised well to some extent. Some modules are better than others, but I believe that is down to the individual lecturers priorities and communication skills. This has meant that we have had to chase for content which will be tested on in less than 3 weeks, but overall it has been well organised.
I think this depends on the client site you are working on, and who your manager is, it is not universal for Capgemini. I have received a good amount of support for my client work. My team is very supportive and happy to train anyone who wants to work to their best ability.
I think this depends on the client site you are working on, and who your manager is, it is not universal for Capgemini. I have not received a lot of support, but that is due to my client work being very time demanding and therefore I cannot study during work time - and spend all my work hours doing client work.
I think this also depends on the role. My training is not helping with my current role, but it has helped greatly with my previous roles (and hopefully my next role. My current role is unlike most other roles within Capgemini, so it has not been closely linked to my university work.
Yes, there are tones of events and social activities as part of being employed by Capgemini. You can usually also get involved in client based events. This month the site is walking the length of the UK, for MIND. We are also having a quiz night next week - organised by myself - so everyone can definitely get involved.
Yes
I think there a lot of positives for Capgemini. They genuinely care about their employees, there is lots of scope for growth, even if you are not part of the degree programme, the people are lovely and there is lots that you can get involved with. I have had a good experience.
Be yourself. Capgemini care a lot about your personality and morals. Fun is one of the 7 golden rules. Do your research and ensure your passion shines through. Show you are motivated and self sufficient and willing to learn. Capgemini is a great company and will support you to learn the skills required, even if you don't currently have them!
