  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I get involved in a variety of tasks on a day to day basis, currently I am in audit so we are often at different client and different locations. My role Is to help the team by completing tasks I've been set to overall complete the audit. My tasks are different for every client.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes I have learned to become more organised and manage my time, when travelling for work organisation and time management is required to ensure I arrive on time. I have developed proactivity as a skill and I have become more proactive by getting involved in different committees within the business.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my programme because it is a rotational programme so we can try variety of different departments before deciding on one, this is really good if your not sure what you want to do career wise. I think that variety of rotations available could be improved however overall the 360 apprenticeship programme is very good and unique.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is well structured with a clear layout of timings over the next few years, exams and study time is also well structured. Sometimes some things are last minute which could be improved, however overall the apprenticeship is really well structured with the option to try so many things.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I think I receive a lot of support from my employer, there are lots of people I can talk to if I am struggling or have questions on things. In terms of study we get lots of support to learn to the best of ability in order to pass exams.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Our training provider provides support in terms of teaching and study, we have enough teaching to help us do our exam and we can always contact someone at the training provider if we are struggling. Overall I think our training provider provides us with enough support to help us achieve our qualifications.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I think my qualification helps me perform better because I can apply knowledge that I have learned to my day to day job. It helps me understand my work better because I have already learnt the knowledge from my training provider, therefore I can pickup new tasks much more quickly.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are lot of extra curricular activities to get involved in at work. There a loads of different committees to join and often there are department social events which are fun. Sports activities are also an option with things like running club and walking. Networking events also happen quite regularly.

  • 9a. Would you recommend KPMG to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend KPMG because it is a really good employer to work for with lots of benefits. I would recommend my apprenticeship because of the unique rotational aspect it offers, as well as this the firm offers great support to train towards qualifications. There is also so much opportunity at the firm.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to KPMG?
  • I would say that those applying should be confident and keen. There interview process isn't too long and its best to be yourself in the interview. It doesn't matter if you don't know what you want to do because you can try out different areas of the business.
