  • My role as a store supervisor includes, mainting store standards, maintaining KPI results, making sure the shopfloor is always full, tidy and clean. Working with my team, is a key factor in my job role, leading and directing the team makes all the difference in the world to drive the store to success.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt a lot of new skills while being with iceland, and following the “what you need to know” to do list set up by my course leader. Learning the management role and above is covered by what the course expects you to know, I have learnt the importance of keeping the working environment positive and motivated, teamwork is the key to a successful shop, my view on standards have definetly improved and the bar has been raised, i lay information on the team so we all stay on the same scale of knowledge. Meriting colleagues keeps the high working momentum throughout the shop.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have always wanted to feel like i am getting somewhere with my life, this apprenticeship course has made me feel like i am not just working day to day but also gaining knowledge and a qualification at the same time. Working in retail can be very reparative but with this course, there is more meaning to working in the store, I definitely feel a lot more motivated to come in to work and perform daily with the best of my abilities and do the same with the course.
