  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My job role is to help customers through banking. customers could ring up about a balance, new cheque book or query on the account etc. Im on calls constantly all day and once a day we have a huddle which is like a meeting. This could be about helping customers, updates or how we're doing with our stats.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt more about customer service and being patient. I have also learnt more about how to use a computer, like systems that royal bank of Scotland use. I used to hate talking to people on the phone until i started working here i'm learning so much, such as phone mannerisms

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Theres always new things to learn and Its great to widen my skills. I like how we get times of the phone to do our work and my coach is very supportive and very helpful. She is also quick to response if I have a query on any questions i may have.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I think it is very organised. At first I didnt think it was due to the fact when I joined nothing was said about the programme and when I was in gradbay the trainer didn't know anything about the apprenticeship either. But once I was on the team it all got explained to me.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I've always received support from my employer but I wish they knew more about the apprenticeship, just so they can help out with questions to do around the business or where to find the information. When I first started working at RBS nothing was mentioned about the programme and no one seem to have the answers.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I cant fault them. Once I received my trainer she is very helpful and If i'm ever unsure about anything, she will go over it with me until I understand something. My trainer responds quickly too which is great especially when you're busy at work and only got a limited of time.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It helps me evaluate myself and on what I do well and what things I can work on to be better in my job role. It also helps you perform better by having to search about the business and the business values. This all helps your job role to become better

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • At work we do a lot for charity, this includes having dress down days and donating to charity and having bake sales. We also do a community day in our team once a year, this is where we pick something to do, such as help out in a elderly home

  • 9a. Would you recommend NatWest to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend rbs to a friend because I believe they are good to work for. They always have support in place just in case you need it, this is for work related and personal related. When starting the company gave you all the training you needed for the job role.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NatWest?
  • I don't really have any tips or advice but just to stick to the training because I know when I first started, I wasnt very good with computers and felt like I was the slowest learner in the class but if you stick to it and work hard you'll be fine
