  • Many skills, teamwork, ability to work under pressure but continued safety standards. And general development of skills related to work.

  • Thoroughly enjoyed all the training and working at site over the past 3 years

  • For the most part it’s well organised however there could be more guidance when it comes to how to comeplet NVQ and what is needed in answers etc

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • We get support for everything whether it’s personal or for work. We’re pushed to progress as much as we can.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Not as much support through provider, we only had 2/3 meetings with them to discuss NVQ and then it’s all email comms from there.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • In all honesty my qualification for my NVQ has no impact on how well I can perform my maintenance technician job. We’re reporting on faults and that’s level 7 jobs which isn’t far into the future.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Only events such as Roadshows which techs gather and discuss aspects of the job. Sites often have site days out/nights out.

  • Yes

  • Good company to work for. Look after you well, pay well and the jobs exciting and fun.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Siemens?
  • Stand out. Don’t be a lurker in the back. And do you best to impress.
