  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • On a day to day basis I work alongside the other engineers here to work on a variety of different tasks on BBC products. Some days we are also at training or events. I am treated as another engineer, and each team works in a different way. Your work for the day is usually decided during a morning meeting called stand up.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Every six months we rotate to another team which we get too choose. This seems to happen pretty smoothly and so far I have been very happy with both my rotations, learning totally different things at both. There is also lots of opportunity to go to events and training which is fun.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • We get treated as part of the team and get a lot of support to build up our skills. I feel as though if I had a problem, I would be able to speak to someone about it. Also, we can usually attend any training we think we may need with support from our managers.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The training has often really helped, but mainly working with and alongside the other engineers is where I learn the most. There is also some events which have also provided a lot of knowledge, such as talks etc. I have definitely progressed a lot since the beginning of the scheme.
